A little about me...I have a family and lead a local 4H Club. I have been around animals my whole life. I attended LBCC for Animal Technology-Horse Management right out of high school. I trained horses for a couple of years and then began to work as a vet tech. I have been a foster home to many homeless, sick and injured animals, assisted at spay and neuter clinics for the Humane Society and Feral Cat Coalition . I have a Certificate from Northwest School of Animal Massage, and I am also a Certified Reiki Master Teacher. I am always continuing my education in related areas, such as Chinese medicine and acupressure as well as nutrition and homeopathy. I use Infrared Light therapy and Applied Kinesiology in addition to Massage and Reiki, making up a wonderful package that will assist your Horse in regaining it's healthy balance. I am a small farm owner in Tumalo. I own and ride horses regularly. Ultimately I have had a life long relationship with animals of all shapes and sizes, and am very comfortable around them. I look forward to working with you and your companion animals. Joene - CAMP, RMT

Some additional services I provide: Applied Kinesiology is also known as muscle testing. It is a way of using the body's own responces to herbs, minerals and vitamins. This is a great tool in figuring out what suppliments, foods and herbs your horse might benifit from, as well as what they might do better without! Infrared Light Therapy is a scientificly proven method of using 'red and infrared light' to bring health back to cells. It promotes healing, comfort and balance. The benifits studied and proven, and can be used for many different issues. Red light, infrared light and cold lasers are used in both humans and animals. It is known to decrease pain, increase mobility and help muscles relax. It can also assist in healing of damaged tissues. This method, has been FDA approved.

Who is qualified to perform Animal massage on my companion animals? In order to perform animal massage, one needs to graduate from an accredited animal massage school; learning the complicated structures of the skeletal system and soft tissues that support and move it. Specific massage techniques are studied and practiced to maximize the benefits of massage and to safely assist animals in their healing. An animal massage practitioner is a trained professional, that works closely with an owner and their veterinarian to optimize the care regimen for each individual animal. How is Animal Massage different than petting and grooming? Petting and grooming your animals regularly is a very important way to show your animal affection, and to provide them proper care. Animal massage is beneficial to animals, because it allows a trained practitioner to focus on specific areas of concern or to give a complete overall treatment that will improve the body’s ability to heal as well as provide a relaxing and enjoyable experience for your animals. Isn’t animal massage mostly for geriatric animals? Both Reiki and Massage benefit animals of any age and of any discipline. Massage for your animals can be used to benefit and support good health, assist the healing process after an injury or surgery or help prevent injury. Please ask your veterinarian if animal massage is right for your companion animal. What animals benefit from Massage and Reiki? Most animals benefit from massage and Reiki, anytime. Similar to the benefits we humans receive from it! Maintenance massage can be used any time to provide relaxation and support healthy muscles and bones, the immune system and skin and coat! In addition, massage can also help reduce recovery time in between workouts and keep connective tissues healthier, aiding in injury prevention.
